Barbell comparison: Rogue Bar 2.0, B&R (Burgener & Rippetoe) Bar by York, Rogue Power Bar 2.0. I just got a new Rogue Power Bar from their Boneyard collection of seconds. I compare it to nine year old B&R bar and Rogue Bar 2.0. I have not been entirely happy with the Rogue Bar 2.0 probably because I don't do a lot of Olympic lifting. I find the knurling too fine, there is no center knurling so ...
Ruger LCP II Lite Rack in .22LR Safety Removal

In this video I demonstrate how to disassemble and remove the manual thumb safety and magazine disconnect safety from a Ruger LCP II Lite Rack in .22LR. I don't recommend you do this but I don't like safeties on my personal use pistols. They are relatively easy to remove without permanently altering the pistol and can be reinstalled at any time. I do not think removal affects the drop safety of...
Wilderness Safepacker Hack
Переглядів 3552 роки тому
I like the Wilderness Safepacker for hiking or especially biking with a pack. However when taking the pack off or in rough terrain on the bike, it often migrates toward the front of the belt. I figured out a way to use a tri glide to loop excess belt around the Safepacker and hold it in the 3:00 position even with jostling, or if the belt is not fastened.

Beretta 92 DXR Trigger Not Resetting
Переглядів 11 тис.3 роки тому
In the past 1000 rounds my Beretta 92 DXR trigger has failed to reset five times. The problem has gotten worse as the pistol got dirtier and when returning the trigger more slowly. Pushing the trigger forward resets it. The issue is, I think, drag on the trigger bar from the Beretta brand plastic over grips. I relieved the grip a little, cleaned the gun and the problem went away.

    Damn, did something wrong. Trigger wont go back to forward position on its own now. Edit: If anyone else has this issue (Trigger not moving to the forward position after being pulled and also locking up once pulled forward manually) Check that the spring wound up just above the trigger itself (its obvious to me now that theyre attached) is pressing against the trigger bar. If it is pressing against the chassis, then you will need to wind it back around and set it so that it is pressing (acting in an upward force) against the trigger bar. There, I present to you both the problem and the solution. Much like governments. I have your back ;)

    I'm debating between the ohio power bar, B&R bar 2.0, and a regular ohio bar to be used as a do-it-all bar with the exception of olympic lifts. Mainly will be used for squats, deadlifts, bench, OHP, & bb rows. Which bar would you go with if you were me? Do you find the aggressive knurling of the power bar to be a hinderance in any of the lifts I mentioned? Which bar would you personally choose if you could only go with one?

    • @enelnelson
      @enelnelson 10 місяців тому

      First: you can't go wrong with any of those. Decide which finish you want. If it is Zinc you are down to the Ohio bars. Then decide if center knurling is important to you? That will finish the decision. For sure I would pick the B&R bar as a do all. I love mine still and if I only had one bar that would be my choice. I used to find center knurl important for squats but for some reason as I became more experienced it became less and less important. But maybe I just don't lift heavy enough for it to matter any more. Center knurl can limit leg position on deadlifts and for sure is a detriment for Olympic lifts, so if you plan to do them some day you may want to avoid it. As you can see from the video, the Zinc finish does not hold up well at all. The B&R bar still looks pretty nice and it is oh so grippy!

    Both of those safeties make this gun safer for everyone. The magazine safety is there to prevent the number one cause of accidental shootings. Quite often someone will remove the magazine, but forget there is a round in the chamber, leaving the opportunity for someone else to assume the gun is safe and pull the trigger to feel what it feels like.....shooting the person next to them. The thumb safety prevents children from shooting each other. Anyone who removes either of these safety devices is an idiot and a hazard to others.

    I carry the 617 22mag but the ejection sucks. 22lr you get 1 more round and with federal punch it’s a great gun. Obviously I shouldnt need to reload after 7 shots of 22mag but for practice it’s way more fun to have a gun that ejects.

      If its hot or dirty. The 43c will have ejection issues. Less so with subsonics, but punch. Minimag, stingers etc, after 20-40 shots it starts having ejection issues with defensive ammo. Never happens in first 8 to 16, so I just clean gun each range trip and it runs great first several cylinders.

  • @deucedeuce1572
    @deucedeuce1572 Рік тому

    I think there's a small hole in the side of the grip to hold the sear forward, so you can take out the chassis and put it back in without a hassle. You can put a punch in there hold push and hold it forward. Then you just pop the chassis back into the grip and pull out the punch from the hole. (edit: If you don't have a long skinny punch or a screwdriver to use, a paperclip can work and one time I used a tooth pick... so it opens up a couple options if you don't have the right tools).

    Just recently experienced the same issue with my brand new 92x centurion after putting like a 500 rounds or more through it. 1st I thought it was carbon and grit build up from running it suppressed, then I thought the trigger bar spring was worn and lost its tension. But even after cleaning and oiling and checking the trigger bar spring tension the issue periodically happens when dry fire testing or using snap caps. It truly sucks because I now feel uncomfortable that I may have a dead trigger pull when its most needed. For that reason alone I’m going to stop carrying it. Till I hear something back from beretta, I read someone else had the same issue back in 2022 but he left no update about any fix. Returning back to my HK to carry, that gun runs well and never gave me any trouble even with multiple rounds put through it.

    First pistol I shot when I was 6 in the 1990s. I remember it being finicky with 22lr did alright with thunderbolts. You also got to worry if it doesn't fire then you got a stuck 22 in the chamber. If you look past those problems It's a fun pistol to shoot and I'll probably pick one up in the near future. As for pocket 380s 9 out of 10 suck to shoot, terrible triggers, narrow in the hand. I can say the 3032 tomcat in 32acp. Fits in the hand well, decent trigger, and I can hit steel plates at 25 yards. With the newer polymer 380s my shoot time is really slow and I'm lucky to hit 15 yards consistently.
